It seems it can be the problem with 16GB of disk usage...

Seward works with 302 basis functions.
With 308 it writes 8 2000MB files and aborts at the beginning of the 9th (giving an error message).
With 322 it writes 4 2000MB files and vanishes with no error message when the 5th is ~750MB (sometimes more, sometimes less).

I find this behaviour rather strange, even though I've modified the value of IO_Lim32.
